The Streaming Giant Chooses Spot-On Star for Mr. 2 in One Piece Upcoming Installment

The Secret Organization is poised to play a huge role in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, although the real showdown won’t take place until the next season, and a adored, audience-beloved member has just been cast.

The platform declared recently that the skilled actor is now part of the One Piece season 3 cast and will play Bon Clay. The role can use their power to transform into an identical duplicate of any individual they’ve made contact with with their main hand. Escola, who is identifies as non-binary and prefers they/them pronouns, will portray a rendition of that role re-envisioned as non-binary, instead of as a drag performer, in the live-action show, differing from the source material and anime.

The new cast member will work alongside multiple new cast members tasked with bringing Baroque Works to reality, including chief Mr. 0, brought to life by the seasoned performer, Sophia Anne Caruso as a key member, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, who will appear as the cast as the ruler of Alabasta.

Even though the role is a important part of the organization, the persona won’t appear until One Piece season 3. With the next season likely to portray the Little Garden segment, this represents a notable change in the schedule of the character’s debut, one that could indicate further changes to the narrative framework.

The actor’s combination of precise humor and emotional depth makes them a standout choice for the character. Besides their recent voice performance in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they earned widespread acclaim and numerous honors for writing and starring in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, highlighting the adaptability they’ll contribute to one of One Piece’s widely praised figures.

Netflix's live-action One Piece program is set to return for its next installment on March 10th, 2026.
