An Urban Center Severed from the Outside
Following their control of the community under encirclement for almost 24 months, from late summer the RSF moved to strengthen its dominance and blockade the leftover civilian population.
Space-based imagery show that fighters started to erect a immense earth barrier - a elevated earthen wall - encircling the boundaries of the city, closing roads and preventing aid.
While the blockade escalated, seventy-eight individuals were murdered in an militia attack on a religious building on September 19th, while the international organization reported dozens more were slain in unmanned aircraft and cannon bombardments on a makeshift community in fall.

In the early morning on late October the militia defeated the last government strongholds and took control of the primary compound in the city, the command center of the Army Division, as the army pulled back.
One of the most graphic videos to appear and analysed showed the aftermath of a mass killing at a educational facility on the western of the community, where dozens dead bodies were observed spread throughout the floor.
An elderly man wearing a white tunic was seated alone amongst the bodies. The man looked to glance as a fighter equipped with a weapon moved down the steps towards him. pointing his firearm, the shooter fired a single shot at the victim, who fell to the floor lifeless.
"Why is this one even living," another militiaman shouted. "Execute this person."
Satellite images taken on October 26th appeared to verify that killings were also conducted on the thoroughfares of al-Fashir, according to a report issued by the Yale Humanitarian Research Lab.
One observer who spoke reported he had seen "multiple of our relatives being killed - the victims were assembled in a specific area and each one eliminated."
Paramilitary Leaders Try to Implement Damage Control
Following the events that came after the killings, paramilitary leader acknowledged that his forces had perpetrated "wrongdoings" and stated the occurrences would be examined.
Part of the detained was after a report recording his murders. Deliberately choreographed and modified footage posted on the militia's formal messaging platform show him being led into a prison room at a detention facility on the outskirts of al-Fashir.
At the same time, the militia and associated online channels commenced attempting to reframe the story.
Posts showing its militiamen providing aid to civilians were shared by several users, while the paramilitary's public relations unit shared multiple videos purporting to demonstrate the compassionate handling of government captives.
Despite the online initiative being deployed by the paramilitary, their activities in el-Fasher have provoked global condemnation.
