Passionate fans of the actress are demanding that a individual who leaped a barrier and seized the performer during yesterday's Wicked: For Good debut be detained or deported from Singapore.

A widely shared footage depicts the person identified as Johnson Wen bypassing photographers and lunging at Grande while the cast proceeded down a event pathway accompanied by fans.

Co-star Cynthia Erivo promptly wrested the stunned performer away from Mr Wen, who was observed being led away of the gathering by guards.

Mr Wen shared on Instagram late on Thursday that he was "free after being taken in", though court documents showed that he was set to appear on Friday morning. It is uncertain if he was formally accused.

History of Disruptions

This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who labels himself a "Controversial Figure", has crashed a concert or event. His Instagram account includes clips of him disturbing other high-profile occasions, including breaching the performance area at Katy Perry's Sydney concert in earlier this year and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers performance in the city last December.

"There needs to be action applied against him as this is evidently a legal violation," commented an Instagram commenter, in a message to a video Mr Wen shared of his act.

"Oh wow so you do this a lot... how aren't you in jail?" another Instagram user wrote.

Fans Voice Worry Over Ariana's Well-being

Several fans criticized Mr Wen for "causing further distress" Grande, who had discussed dealing with trauma-related anxiety after a terrorist explosion at the finale of her May 2017 performance in Manchester, killing 22 people and injuring hundreds.

"Ariana has been through so many scary things... and at her Manchester concert and you thought it would be fun to jump the barricade?" said a further response on Instagram.

A number of attendees also faulted guards at the Thursday event for not being sufficiently alert; while different individuals demanded digital services to ban Mr Wen's content.

Aftermath and Event Details

In videos spreading on the internet, Grande seemed shocked when she was touched by the individual. Her fellow actors Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted comforting her while Mr Wen was led out by guards.

Grande has not issued a statement on the incident, and the rest of the event carried on uninterrupted.

Many of fans had congregated in a mass of green and pink at the Wicked: For Good regional debut in a Singapore shopping center, including a number who had waited for as long as many hours before it commenced.

The film, to be released on the 21st of November, is the follow-up of a dual interpretation of the acclaimed Broadway and West End show Wicked, which revolves around the unlikely relationship between two contrasting witches.

The production itself is a derivative of the 1900 story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who plays the benevolent sorceress Glinda, was dressed in a rosé sparkling outfit at the premiere while Erivo, who acts as the Elphaba, wore a sleek black dress featuring roses.

They were accompanied by cast member Jeff Goldblum.

The initial film, Wicked, was the highest-grossing motion picture of 2024 in the UK, and scored ten Oscar nominations, winning several for outstanding attire and production design.
